Christmas & New Year 2012/2013 once again saw endless blue skies and warm temperatures here on the coast at hotel California. A very pleasant change for our clients coming from somewhat cooler and rainier countries!

Whilst slightly fresher in the mountains, the conditions allowed pilots to enjoy some good flying in Cenes, Loja, Darro and of course on the coast. In fact, the pilots flew every day over the holidays as you have probably seen on the blog.

The non-flyers had a particularly relaxing time walking on the beach working on their sun tans, going to the local spa and generally enjoying the festive atmosphere here and in the town.

We decided to paint the bar and reception the week before Christmas – dark red like the terrace – and this provided a nice backdrop to the usual funky Christmas decorations and tree. However the best decoration of all remains the spectacular poinsettia tree just outside the bar/dining room window which once again did not disappoint and will probably stay in bloom until May!

Needless to say, after the day’s activities the emphasis was on some fine drinking and ‘tapa-ing’ at the bar, some great celebratory meals, and a couple of fine hc parties…..thank you to all those who joined us this year – your company was ‘the finest’ ………T & D xx
