Christmas & New Year 2015/2016 were celebrated in the usual way here at hotel California. Our regular guests who call this their ‘home from home’ for Christmas joined us from Holland & the UK - Mike & Mariette, Erwin & Bastienne, Hans, Martin & Rachel plus it was great to welcome new guests Mika & Werner into the group.
We were blessed with superb weather and everyone enjoyed plenty of flying. In fact they flew every day and took in quite a variety of sites - some of which were new to most such as Moclin, Padre Eterno, Los Tablones & Sierra Lujar.
It has been an extremely mild & dry winter this year with plenty of sunshine - the huge poinsettia tree in our garden looked stunning once again against a backdrop of gorgeous blue sky! In fact it stayed warm enough to enjoy après- flying drinks and tapas out on the terrace every evening.
We did our big Christmas dinner and party in Spanish style on the evening of the 24th this year, and on the evening of the 25th after a full day’s flying we dined out at a local restaurant in the old town called Los Geranios - superb food & fun all round.
The team even found the energy to squeeze in ‘flamenco night’ down at La Ventura in the old town too! (We grabbed an early night!)
