If you are enjoying a holiday in Almuñécar and fancy a day in the mountains, Sierra Nevada has excellent car parking facilities underneath the town square, with capacity for around 3.000 vehicles. A ski resort within easy reach of a warm sea and one of the wonders of the world.

Just one and a half hours from Malaga Airport, Sierra Nevada is much more accessible than you'd think. Arriving in the resort, you instantly feel a village atmosphere. The town centre features a wide open square, surrounded by many shops, restaurants and ski lifts.

The Sierra Nevada should be seen as an ideal place for both beginners and intermediates. If you have never skied before, you will find the 61km of slopes wide and easy, with the soft, forgiving snow acting as a cushion against falls. Some slopes, however, are no pushover, being challenging enough for the more experienced skier, with the variety of red runs, although you'll find only a handful of black runs for the most daring.

A major selling point for Sierra Nevada, over its other more northerly rivals, is that it's an avalanche-free zone. Also a bonus, its southerly position affords it hours of blue sky and sunshine.
